When you purchase a King Stairs Software product, you will receive a license for your purchased product.

Terminology

A common source of confusion is the terminology used: “Registering”, “Ordering”, “Purchasing”, and “Licensing” all really mean the same thing: Purchasing an ongoing license for using your King Stairs Software product.

What do I enter into the Registration Dialog?

Unless you have a full product license (as opposed to an evaluation license), you will not be able to enter anything into the Registration dialog; just press Cancel to continue using your product in evaluation mode.

If you do have a full product license, instructions for entering the appropriate information can be found on the license document/e-mail.

My serial number and activation key/license key do not work

There are number of possible reasons for this:

  • You are using the wrong license details: Different major versions of a product (1.x, 2.x, etc) may require a separate license; in general licenses cannot be interchanged.

  • You entered the user name incorrectly. You must enter the user name exactly as it appears in your license document.

  • The activation key or license key was mistyped. Be careful of I vs 1, O vs 0. Current versions of King Stairs Software products can read licensing details from an e-mail message or the Clipboard, which has dramatically reduced such problems!
