We’ve received a lot of reports recently about strange behavior in Jot+ Notes 3.6.0 – unable to access child notes, sudden duplication of notes, etc. The common feature is that all of these users have RoboForm 7.x installed.

According to one user, disabling RoboForm 7 “fixes” the problem. You can also apparently revert to RoboForm 6.x, which does not exhibit the problem according to reports.

The cause seems to be a new password feature in RoboForm 7 which in incompatible with Jot+ Notes 3.6.0. At this point, we don’t know if Jot+ Notes 3.7.0 will be affected, or if the problem is only in specific versions of RoboForm 7.

Thanks to M Crane, who discovered a workaround for the problem:

  1. If Jot+ Notes is running, close it now.
  2. In Roboform 7, go to Options / Applications Integration.
  3. Select Add to the Black List (the list of applications RoboForm will not attach to).
  4. Browse to the location of the Jot+ Notes executable JotPlus3.exe – normally under c:\Program Files\King Stairs\Jot+ Notes\ (or for 64-bit Vista/Win7 c:\Program Files (x86)\King Stairs\Jot+ Notes\)

This fix should take effect immediately.
